Instructional Design is Like Travel

Instructional Design (ID) is a process of identifying organizational goals, the “gaps” between current performance and the stated goals, and a development of the learning and training that needs to take place to close the gaps. It’s a lot like traveling: You decide where you want to go, the distance between your current location and your destination, and then plan how to “bridge the distance.”
